Do you have a best friend? A friend that you can count on in times of need? I mean a REAL friend. One who knows you and all your weaknesses and still loves you? Oh my. That kind of friend is amazing. I have had so many sweet and precious friends in my lifetime. If I had just one area of blessings to brag on, friendships would be at the top of my list. God has truly gone way out on the special friends thing for me. I think I have shared with most of you my claim to fame from elementary school (I was honored with the ” Chatty Cathy ” award for being so talkative!) Whatever! That can possibly be one of the reasons I have had so many friends–my big mouth! I love people! The way I see it, I’m a person, and I know how I want to be enjoyable to other’s just as other’s are to me. I feel honored to be someone’s friend, lucky, blessed, really I do.
People can be wicked though. Have you ever been burned by someone that you thought was a “good” friend? Ouch! That can hurt for a long time. Some people never get over a betrayel from a dear friend. Are you one of those? If you are, I have news for you. You don’t have to live with that feeling inside of you anymore! You and I have a friend that will never fail us, He will never let us down, never change, never go back on one promise, He is Jesus. He is not a human filled with flesh and self. He is a holy and righteous God-looking to fill your life with happiness and love. Now that’s what friends are for. I love the thought of being with all my friends (you all know who you are) and just to hang out and talk, talk, talk. That’s the same way I feel about my Lord. I long for the day I will be with him in heaven-my real home. I will most likely be blabbing away even there. Maybe not. I don’t know. I do know that I will be claiming His promise to me and to you until that day comes.
