This flu/chest cold/misery maker sickness stuff is taking over my family. Gavin spent the day home in bed again and Gates called me in my classroom around 10:15 needing to go home. I went to work barely able to talk. The medicine to relieve the congestion made me feel crazy all night mixed in with the snore monster loose in my room…I may have gotten 5 hours of sleep total. It seems that Ally and Don are the only ones not sick. Hopefully it stays that way. Somebody has to be here to identify our bodies. We want to feel well again and live like rockstars! Whoop!
Friday is jeans day for goodness sakes! We never get to dress down at my school. So I’m going to school, dangit! Sick or not! I’m so very principaled, don’t you think? It’s also basketball sectional time. Our school plays…but we are skipping that massacre to go and support Ally’s boyfriend, Tyler as he plays the same time. His team has had a great season this year and it would be awesome to see them win these games. It’s the end of the basketball road for him (he’s a senior) and this would sure make his day to win. So….GO TYLER!!!! We’re praying you play your best! We think you R O C K !!
So much is going on right now. Yesterday I picked up Gavin’s cap-n-gown for graduation. Tonight we attended the travel meeting for his New York trip which is in two weeks. Tomorrow I have to pay the deposit for his senior trip (they are going to Chicago). Time is flying by. June will be here in a blink of an eye. This last Saturday as I was changing his sheets, I noticed a dvd we had made for him for his birthday. Yes….I got weak and put it in and watched it. A word of advice to you mom’s…..DON’T DO IT!! I ended up crying. It was just yesterday the kid was a baby. They really do grow up fast. He’s been a joy to raise. I look ahead with excitement at what his future holds.
Jer 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
