Victory for the Cougars!!

I must admit….winning feels awesome! Tonight’s sectional game was intense! I was really nervous for Tyler and his team. These games are a big deal and it’s easy to get overly anxious and make mistakes. The first half of the game was neck and neck. Nerve wracking! I couldn’t see either (bad seats)….we were running late. You don’t do that at a sectional game where 4 different teams have packed the house with fans people. We vowed to leave extra early for tomorrow nights game. I want to see every second. I’m so excited! Woohoo!

So….here’s a little snippet of Tyler#15 working it!

Sorry…if this is jumpy…I’m not sure why it’s doing that. πŸ™

We’re droppin like flies

This flu/chest cold/misery maker sickness stuff is taking over my family. Gavin spent the day home in bed again and Gates called me in my classroom around 10:15 needing to go home. I went to work barely able to talk. The medicine to relieve the congestion made me feel crazy all night mixed in with the snore monster loose in my room…I may have gotten 5 hours of sleep total. It seems that Ally and Don are the only ones not sick. Hopefully it stays that way. Somebody has to be here to identify our bodies. We want to feel well again and live like rockstars! Whoop!

Friday is jeans day for goodness sakes! We never get to dress down at my school. So I’m going to school, dangit! Sick or not! I’m so very principaled, don’t you think? It’s also basketball sectional time. Our school plays…but we are skipping that massacre to go and support Ally’s boyfriend, Tyler as he plays the same time. His team has had a great season this year and it would be awesome to see them win these games. It’s the end of the basketball road for him (he’s a senior) and this would sure make his day to win. So….GO TYLER!!!! We’re praying you play your best! We think you R O C K !!

So much is going on right now. Yesterday I picked up Gavin’s cap-n-gown for graduation. Tonight we attended the travel meeting for his New York trip which is in two weeks. Tomorrow I have to pay the deposit for his senior trip (they are going to Chicago). Time is flying by. June will be here in a blink of an eye. This last Saturday as I was changing his sheets, I noticed a dvd we had made for him for his birthday. Yes….I got weak and put it in and watched it. A word of advice to you mom’s…..DON’T DO IT!! I ended up crying. It was just yesterday the kid was a baby. They really do grow up fast. He’s been a joy to raise. I look ahead with excitement at what his future holds.

Jer 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Too sick to care

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

I am not a sickly type person. But last night as I was trying to post on here….I was feeling weird. I thought I was having an asthma attack. Which I haven’t had in forever. By the time I woke up this morning my chest was so congested that I felt like it was caving in. The pressure was intense and the feeling to cough was obnoxious. It was like a dry painful cough. I wasn’t sure if I should stay home or just push through. I pushed on and went to work.

By the time I get to school, Gavin is calling me to say….he has to leave. He feels so bad that he wants to go home and croak. I meet him at my desk and we head down to the nurse so I can sign him out. He looks rotten when I see him. I know he has to feel pretty bad for him to want to go back home (we hadn’t even made it to first period yet). He heads home and tries to sleep it off. He comes back in for AP Physics last period of the day. Still feeling like garbage….he even stays for Hello Dolly practice. By the time he makes it back….he falls on the couch and sends text messages to me upstairs begging for meds. Poor kid….I’m not much help as I have by this time fallen into my own bed to croak. We’re pathetic! Don’t come over.

Hubby doesn’t make it home until after 8pm. No one can help themselves by this point. We all feel sick and tired. He passes out pills and now we are all going to bed. It’s no fun getting sick. I am not a good sick person. I’m too busy to stop and be sick. I have a ton of things to do all the time. I feel bad feeling bad! Crazy huh? So, enough whining for me. I just wanted to say…..I’m sick. It feels like junk! I hope to sleep it off….but with chest congestion….that’s not likely to happen. That usually gets worse while you sleep. πŸ™

Here’s to hoping you are healthy and well. Stay away from anyone coughing or wiping their noses. These people are germ monsters and they will try to kill you! Beware! πŸ™‚ Oh….and WASH YOUR HANDS!!!! Please?
