It is finished…

Sunday, January 9th, 2011

Last night can only be described in one word, HEARTBREAKING!! My Colts took a beating from the Jets and I ain’t happy! I’m bummed! I couldn’t believe how it all ended. So close! But, it’s over. I’m moving on.

Well, except for waking up all sad this morning and eating four meatballs for breakfast. I did drink two glasses of water with them (don’t judge me). I knew those meatballs were just the tip of the iceberg.

I turned to this….

Ok, so I might have a problem! At least I’m not a thumb sucker, right?

See ya at training camp FAVORITE TEAM IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!! I can’t wait to see healthy players again. Thanks for a great season in spite of all the injuries. You guys rock!

Noooooo, I will not get sick!

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

All day, I battled this killer headache. I even let it get to me to the point of getting a little grouchy at school. Sorry kids! It was one of those smile stealer kind. Since I like smiling…..it was annoying me to be feeling that crummy! By the time I got home from school, I was getting that burning sensation in my throat! Oh yea, I’m getting sick! Darnit!!

And it’s Friday! Boo, to you sorethroat and throbbing sinus head! Yuck!

I mentioned my plight on a Facebook status and immediately got some wild advice from friends; gargle with pickle juice, Wild Turkey and hot salty water. Not all at once, pick one and do it. Hmm, I’m feeling a bit desperate. I will surely try the salty water. I don’t have any liquor and I hate the stinky smell of the pickle juice. But hey….whatever works right? I might be stinking like a garlicky pickle all day. Sorry innocent bystanders! πŸ˜‰

I want to share a sweet link that Beth Moore blogged about over at LPM. It’s a great new ministry for families with struggles of a special kind….hidden disabilities! I’m so excited about this. Go see what you think.

Happy Day

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

Today has been a really great day! {THANK YOU JESUS!!} All three of my kids had productive and important meetings. Each of them accomplishing something that really matters. Hubby had a good meeting at work and I didn’t feel near as much stress that I usually do during my workday. Nice!

When I turned on the tv after school, I saw a clip about this guy in Ohio and I just smiled. What a great story! I hope you like it too. Then, tonight God ordered up just for me….the funniest episode ever of The Middle! I kid you not, it was hilarious!

The Middle-Out of the picture link. (I hope)!

I laughed so hard not just because it was so funny, but because it was a mirrored image of my own life with teenagers. Gimme, gimme, gimme! Do for me! Do for me! Do for me! Complain, complain, complain! Whew! It was eye-opening!

This weekend…..hubby and I are going to DO SOMETHING JUST FOR US!!!! Just you wait and see! πŸ˜‰

PS.
I don’t want you to get the idea that I have rotten kids…..but honestly, I need to regroup and come back a little more realistic about how much I do for them. I love them….but I’m not helping them by meeting their every need.
Just sayin!

The eyes have it

I knew she’d be thrilled. It almost drove me bonkers after I wrapped it up. All month I had to wait. Finally Christmas morning she opened it up. EYELASH EXTENSIONS!!!

For Christmas this year…..I surprised Ally. We both had heard such exciting things from other gals who’d gotten them. So, when I caught a great deal from our local radio station….I knew this gift would rock her world.

Keeping it a wrapped up secret all month was killer!!!

Designs by Jines
owner, Tara Jines is awesome! She has a fantastic shop downtown that has a little something for just about any need you might have. But honestly, what I find most appealing? Is Tara herself. She’s a precious and talented lady who loves God outloud for the whole world to see. I like her boldness to share what God is doing in her life and what he can do in mine and yours. Cool!

Before

The whole eyelash procedure took around an hour. It involved no suffering or pain….just a little patience while you lounge on a comfy spa table. Tara walks you through each step and answers every question you can dream up. Then she shares how to care for and maintain your lashes after you’ve left the shop. Can you imagine NOT having to wear mascara anymore? No, me either. But you won’t with eyelash extensions.

During

Not only do you come out looking like a glammed up babe….but it’s very affordable! Just this morning, I saw on Today with Kathie Lee & Hoda a segment on eyelashes. The expert showed several new ways to glam up the eyelashes. They showed the same process that Tara does. Only the cost was quite a bit higher!

If you’re interested in dazzling up the eyes…..Tara is the best! Thank you so much Tara. Ally looks awesome and she can’t wait to come in for a tune-up. πŸ˜‰

After

My boy….he leaves again!

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

I can’t be the only mom to feel this way. Everytime he comes home, I get used to feeding him and picking up after him and BOOM! He packs up to leave again! Now, my heart and brain have to get used to him living somewhere else again. Somewhere that I’m not. πŸ™

As he left today….I helped him get packed and sent him to the bank to deposit his rent money. Then we drove over to SCREAM-MART Walmart to grab a few groceries for him to eat on the next week or so {$ ChaChing, goodbye $95}. Before he left town, we met hubby at Sonic for a little goodbye lunch. It was all going great until my chilli-cheese fries arrived. I managed to drop them down the entire front of my body!! I didn’t miss a spot; scarf, hoodie, jeans & my seat! Got it! All over! πŸ™‚

That’s what I get for getting all fancy and putting on real clothes today! Hrmph!

Now, I’m back home to quiet and missing my boy already. He has some big responsibilities to handle this week. A job, meeting with his counselor, creating a rockin spring semester and a hard conversation with roommates. I’m so proud of him! Standing up for what honors God isn’t always popular, but he isn’t afraid to do it! GO GAV! I’ll be praying for him as he takes on all this and more.

Can’t wait to see him again, soon! These visits just make me miss him more.

COLTS DAY

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

We love football days! It’s our last regular season game. Boo! πŸ™ But, it is possible that we will play some post season games….right? Which means YEEHAW for us! I can’t bear to watch if my Colts aren’t playing! So, once we’re out…..I’m done!

I love ya Colts!! GO FIGHT WIN!!

I’m surrounded by the people I love and cheering for my team. Now that’s a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
