It’s fun to dream…

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

My girl Ally has been dreaming. No, not about a boy. She’s quite smitten with one….but this dream is not boy related. It’s car dreams! She has fantasized about “what” God will bless her with in the form of wheels! She has some personal favorites.

Meet the FJ Cruiser! A groovy little SUV made by Toyota!

A bit pricey……around $20,000+. I’m not sure it’s worth it. But she likes it. It’s a dream, remember?

Then there’s the Smart Car! Yes….that weird little squished up thing they are calling a car. She was lucky enough to drive one recently. While at the eye doctor a few weeks back….one of the doc’s owns one and happily let her take it for a spin. Umm, she was psyched beyond words. (Thanks, Kirk…you’re SO COOL!! for a doctor and all!!)

Imagine our surprise when we saw Little Debbie is giving away the cutest little cupcake SMART CAR??!!!! Holy shmoly….we were really excited! We have signed up to win (OF COURSE!!) and you need to do the same! It’s not that complicated! Besides, who doesn’t want to drive around in a stinkin cupcake? Duh!

If you happen to win……..please drop by and take the dreamer for a spin! She’d be so thrilled! 🙂

And I hear….these scooter patooter’s get like 50mpg! Wow! That’s a lot of mileage!

Oh and the dreamer?  She’s reached the point of a Ford Taurus starting to look cute.  Poor girl!  🙂

What do I know?

Dear Father
I feel like I don’t know anything somedays. Especially when it comes to your Holiness. God you are SO HOLY! Help me see…..even in the slightest of hints You and Your Holiness!
Amen

It appears to be a helmet…

Ok, remember my mantra about getting my hair done last week?  Well, I did it.  I went to my favorite salon in the woods to see Sheila.  She knows my hair (and that’s a sad relationship if I ever knew one) because…I don’t have “good” hair.  It’s been hormonal and unruly my entire life….so I can’t blame it on the perimenopausal state of my being any longer!  My hair is it’s own worse enemy!  Never are there any comments such as…..”Oh wow, your hair is awesome!”.  That’s just not compliments that I usually hear.  I’m ok with it.  Really.  I can take it.  I’ve lived with this hair a loooong time.

I just go with it.  I mean, what else can I do?  It’s just hair, dangit!  I’m not that shallow!  🙂  I have my priorities in order…….sleep, eat well, rest, blog, laundry….look half-way good and work.  See?  I’m balanced!

So, the haircut goes well.  I show her a picture of the magic I believe she can perform.  She snips, clips and buzzes.  I look at the result….not quite the exact style.  She clips some more and sprays it in place.  Off I go….to the color store.  I should’ve just went home!

Once inside Sally’s…..I had a complete brain meltdown.  I studied and searched the different choices.  But there was no memory of the color that I used last time.  I picked up two that I thought were the right one.  It could’ve been either one.  I just couldn’t remember.  So, I just picked.

Yea…..I have BLACK hair now.  I mean……really black.  And when I style it….it looks like I’m wearing a helmet!  Not a goodlooking helmet…..something sturdy and withstanding!  I would post a picture but I don’t have my camera handy.  Maybe soon.  Cause I’ll pretty much be like this for a while.

It’s a good thing….I don’t find my self-worth in places such as my hair.  I’d be in trouble.

Romans 12:3 warns us “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment.”

Change Me

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

I’ve made 3 hair appointments in the last month…..and had to cancel each one of them.  Every single time it was “me” time….someone would have another appointment at the same time!  This lack of extra vehicle thing is really getting to be a pain!

I’m scheduled for a quickie haircut tomorrow (Friday).  No sitting around talking and catching up with Sheila the magic maker.  I’m in and out!  Cause you guessed it……I have other things pushing for my time.  On the agenda?  Gates and Ally have a drama performance tomorrow night.  The evening will be spent enjoying a dessert bar along with the play “Trouble at the Talent Show” by Eileen Moushay.

I’m looking forward to sprucing up my look and watching my girls in the play!  I need a bit of change!  We won’t even talk about my roots…..eeek!  Scary!
