1000

POSTS

I've been blogging since 2008 and over the weekend I realized that I had written 999 blog posts.  Cool huh?  I think so.  It seems like a lot but it doesn't feel like I've written that many posts.  I mean, I know I'm chatty.  It's just crazy that today's blog puts me up to 1000.

So, how do you celebrate all that online blabbing?  I have no idea.  Maybe a giveaway?  Yea, I think a giveaway is a great way to ring in #1000!!

Since I love my blog so much,  I think this giveaway should be of something I really love too.  Don't you?  Thinking….thinking.  How about a favorite candle?  Hmm, naah!  Too common.  Or something from my friend,  Vera?  Eh, I don't know.  I like her, but maybe you don't.  Oh, who am I kidding?  I know what is universal and even if you don't like it…someone in your family does.  McDonalds!  Everybody loves McDonald's, right?  Shut it, skinny chicks!

To celebrate my fun here at Queenies Little Kingdom and to say thank you to those of you who visit and read.  I'm giving away $10 whole whopping big ones to the golden arches!  Don't act like you aren't excited!

I know there's something there you'll eat/drink!

Really, I'm so glad you come by.  I love when friends tell me they're reading my blog.  I oftentimes think….I'm just talking to myself here.  It feels great knowing other people like to come here and see what I'm saying.  Even if it's whining or ranting.  What troopers all 6 of you are (Honey, you don't count!).  So, THANK YOU blog friends!  You are very special to me.

Wanna win?  All you have to do is leave me a comment.  Just say, "Hey"!  You can also tell me if you're a new friend or someone who visits regularly.  Either way, let me know you were here and I'll pick a winner this weekend after Thanksgiving and Black Friday (eww, shudder).

I mean, seriously….who couldn't use $10 towards a Mocha Frappe or a McCafe Peppermint Hot Chocolate?

Book Crazy

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

I’m one of those people who bites off more than she can chew. In everyway. Especially when it comes to books. I see one that interests me and I grab it. Before you know it, I’m stacked up with stuff to read and no time free to actually do the reading. Typical, right? Tell me..you do it too?

I’m stuck in the middle of Heaven Is For Real by Todd Burpo right now. I started it about two weeks ago and just haven’t had time to sit around and read. It’s a fairly quick read, so I hope to finish it up in the next day or so. I’m loving Todd’s story of his little boy and what happens in a time of grave illness. If you haven’t read it, get it. I wouldn’t call myself a sceptic of death to life experiences but I would say I’m cautious. The story is really heartwarming and reminds me God works in His own way.

Back in July, hubby bought me Laura Ingraham’s book, Of Thee I Zing. I’d been scanning the internet hoping to find a giveaway of it (cause I’m super cheap like that). But the book was HOT and no one was hosting any giveaway’s yet. I’ve been plucking along with it, in little bite-sized portions. I love this lady’s humor. She is so funny and has a keen eye for the tacky that surrounds us. It’s a gift. I think she and I have way too much in common. We both tend to come off as a bit HARSH! 😉

If you haven’t heard, Angie Smith has a new book. I pre-ordered it in hopes of diving right in when it was released from the presses. Well, it’s been a few weeks now and I haven’t even opened it yet. Yesterday, I found out that it was chosen for the newest BLOOM BOOK CLUB read over at (in)courage. I’m not a good candidate for the bookclub follow along gang. I’m definitely inspired to start reading What Women Fear. Also, if you’re looking to join the group or get the book at a great price please click over. (in)courage makes it easy to afford the book through a discounted price and offers scholarships. You can help with that too! Or buy it HERE on sale.

I have no excuse. Reading time is as important as I allow it to be. I hereby promise (to me & now to you) to get serious and finish these three books that I’ve talked about. It’s just a matter of doing it. Right?

What about you? Do you have stacks of books to read that you tell yourself you’re going to soon? If so, what’s on your list?

I LOVE ETSY

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Maybe you know what I’m talking about….Etsy is amazing! There are so many talented people selling the most precious items online. If you can dream it, someone’s made it and is selling it! Just go see! I thought I’d be kind cruel and share some of the sweetest things I’ve found fallen in love with.

Don’t hate me. Just browse and love.

I could shop all day but it’s raining outside and I’m off work. Luckily for me, I have errands to run and rockin rainboots to wear while doing so! Don’t be afraid to buy something special from an etsy shop. I know this is a great way to help support home businesses and give special things to the people you love!

Go see Rachel

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

I’m in love with books. I’m also in love with the thought of writing one myself. When anyone I know bloggy know writes a book and sees it off to the presses….I get equally excited! It’s like I did it (even though I didn’t)!!

So, I’m linking you to Rachel Olsen’s blog. Go and see what the Lord has done through her and enter to win a copy of her new book, It’s No Secret!! Yay, to you Rachel!! Congrats!

Look at it…..so pretty!

It’s a dream, ok?

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

I’m a dreamer! Everyone who knows me….will agree! I can fantasize myself into anything. It’s just my personality! Maybe it’s unhealthy…but I don’t think so. It gives me tons of joy (my crazy pretending) and besides….dreaming is just that…..dreaming!

Each year….on January 1st, HGTV launches their annual Dream Home Giveaway Contest. During the year, the crew works tirelessly finding the perfect locale and builder to make someone’s dream come true! Now I’m not saying that every house has been my dream home…..there have been a few close ones (I’m a beach house dreamer) but honestly, I would really just like the money (and let me say this…..it wouldn’t take 2.5 million to build my dreamhouse!!) to build my own dream!

The ticker is winding down….and it’s only days away. My blog will hold the widget during the contest as a reminder to me to enter once everyday! You can’t win if you don’t try! Now, I have to go….I’m daydreaming of what I would do with all that prizey goodness!

You can dream too…….and enter! Don’t forget to watch HGTV on January 1st!
