It’s Hot…Like Fiyah!

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

You have every right to pass on by here today. I’m simply goo-goo eyes for my new toy and I’m blabbing away about it! I’ve mentioned it a few times, remember?

My birthday present? The Kindle Fire!!!

I know, I know….big whoopdie doo! But really ya’ll, IT IS SO AWESOME! I’ve only played with it a teensy bit because hubby has been “loading” it up with goodies.

Which reminds me….

What’s a “Queenie style” post without a bit of neurotic mish-mash? As soon as I saw the box on my kitchen table, I felt a little flipflop in my stomach. I told you…major whack job here, guys! It’s embarrassing to admit this but I felt like I was some sort of trader.

I looooove my Nook! Ever since my son returned from Washington and we did a little switcharoo (he’s using it to read the Steve Jobs book)….I’ve felt guilty. I’m not a Nook quitter, I PROMISE! I’m simply a SHARE-ER (yes, I made that up)!

I can use both, right?

NOTE: When hubby handed my new e-reader back to me tonight…guess what he added?

MY NOOK APP!!! All of my Nook books are on there too! This is like the motherload of awesome, ya’ll! I’m definitely moving up in this world. Not only can I watch movies, blog, read Facebook — I can read my books from my other Library that I’ve bought/acquired along the way! Yeehaw!

NO MO GUILT! πŸ˜‰

Hmm, now I wonder if I’ll ever upgrade to a big girl cellphone? Naaah!

Fall Back

Saturday, November 5th, 2011

There may not be a person on this earth more happy to “fall back” than this girl! I’m always looking for ways to get a little bit more rest. Sleeping in an extra hour on Sunday just makes me want to skip and sing! Honestly, I won’t be sleeping any later…but the extra hour will make me feel as if I’m getting away with something. And who doesn’t like to do that?

I’ll waste it doing something important, I promise. It’s a blessing to have a little more time to do whatever. Which reminds me, I have one week left until I get to hold my new Kindle Fire in my hands. I’ve been all over Amazon’s site shopping and trying to familiarize myself with their book system.

It’s confusing. I can’t find the great deals that I know are out there. I’m also sad that my other books (from my Nook) can’t be transferred over. πŸ™ The freebies at the Library are minimal too. But, I’m not complaining! I don’t even have it yet so what do I have to whine about? I’m just feeling a bit intimidated learning a new device.

Sad life, huh?

Phil 4:11-12
“I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.”

Wise words from the Apostle Paul. Good encouragement for when I lose perspective.

It’s another beautiful weekend here in Indiana. The leaves are scattered and the air is crispy with blue skies and sun shining bright. I’m planning a bit of shopping with my birthday girl later and maybe even hubby (he’s been sick for the last few days). I love having free time with the ones I love….

Don’t you? Enjoy your extra hour, friends.

Birthday Shmirthday

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

Here’s me. Today was my birthday.

This is what I looked like at lunchtime. I know, I look happy.

But it was stressful and busy at work. I came home with a whopping headache. Someone had a surprise for me.

Thank you to my sweet Ally for decorating in my honor and for the pretty scarf. Oh I loved the Owl City video too. She’s my GIFTS love language child!

While I was at work, my very dirty car got a complete detail job thanks to my Sweetboy! Smells awesome too. Yay!

My hubby went bonkers and PRE-ORDERED the new KINDLE FIRE for me! {I told him I wanted Botox!} Whoop whoop! I can’t wait to play with it. He says it will be a bit nicer than the Nook Color…..really? Ok, then. I’ll take it!

What I was really wishing for was a RED VELVET CAKE.

That was out of the question because I’m literally out of everything awesome to bake anything. Just my crazy luck, ya’ll! So, you can bet your sweet biffy that I’ll be creating some cream cheese madness this weekend in honor of my big 4 5!! Don’t worry….I will post pictures.

I loved reading the messages on my Facebook wall. It’s amazing how much love a person can get from all over the world. Thank you friends & family. I’m so very blessed.

Birthday is over. Tomorrow is a new day. Since it is officially still MY BIRTHDAY now–I’d like to make a wish:

A stress free Thursday & Friday at school. πŸ™‚
